I went on a “Bull Moose Workshop” through Backcountry Journeys (BCJ) November 15-19, 2025. BCJ offers about 100 different photography trips and generally has 6 or 7 clients per guide. For this trip we stayed in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and went out each morning before dawn, came back for a nice brunch, and went back out until nightfall. temperatures were mostly in the upper thirties.
Tiffany was a great guide – very sharp and knowledgeable on camera equipment, composition, wildlife, safety, and all the back roads. All the “guests” – Andy, Gary, Beth, Carey, Eric, and me – were at about the same level and got along great.
We went in mid-November when the rutting season has just ended and the moose are in the open areas of grasses and sage. And their huge antlers won’t fall off for a couple more weeks. Perfect timing!
